In recent years, smartphone manufacturers have significantly increased the battery capacity of their devices. Some Chinese models are already equipped with 6500-7000 mAh batteries. Apparently, the companies are not going to rest on their laurels and are already developing gadgets with even higher battery capacity, an insider tells Digital Chat Station.
According to the informant, realme is experimenting with a new generation of battery capacity for its upcoming flagship realme GT8 Pro. The manufacturer is currently evaluating three potential configurations:
- 7000 mAh battery with 120 W charging (0 to 100% in 42 minutes)
- 7500 mAh battery with 100 W charging (0 to 100% in 55 minutes)
- 8000 mAh battery with 80 W charging (0 to 100% in 70 minutes)
This data indicates a trade-off between battery capacity and charging speed: higher capacity results in a slight increase in charging time. But let's be realistic: 70 minutes to fully charge the 8000 mAh battery is still very fast compared to some of today's competitors.
If realme does indeed enter the market with an 8000 mAh battery in 2025, it could be the beginning of a new era of long-lasting smartphones.
