The second model of Xiaomi's electric car will be launched in February-March 2025. The novelty is codenamed MX11 and will compete with the Tesla Model Y. This is reported by CnEVPost.
It is known for sure that the new Xiaomi EV model will be an electric SUV. The car will share the platform and some components with the Xiaomi SU7, but will have a unique design with smooth side lines.
If Xiaomi's pricing strategy for the new model is the same as that of SU7, the new SUV will cost less than Tesla Model Y.
As a reminder, Xiaomi officially unveiled its first SU7 electric car in March 2024, and on November 18, it announced that the company had reached its goal of 100,000 units sold.
On October 29, Xiaomi began pre-selling the production version of the more powerful SU7 Ultra for 814,900 yuan ($112,590), which is almost four times the starting price of the regular SU7 at 215,900 yuan ($29,791). Sales of the SU7 Ultra will begin in March 2025.
