After many transfers and refinements, Microsoft has introduced a test version of Recall for Copilot Plus computers. The company is also launching its analog of Circle to Search - Click to Do. This is reported by Android Authority.
The feature is available to members of the Windows Insider Dev Channel program. It takes screenshots of your activity, analyzes them using artificial intelligence, and helps you find the information you need. In addition to searching by queries, there is a timeline function that allows you to go to specific dates and find websites, programs, or other resources that were used at that time.
The tool's release has been repeatedly delayed since it was first announced. Since then, it has undergone several changes, and it seems that Microsoft has addressed many of the security and privacy concerns.
First, none of the images taken will be sent to the cloud, nor will they be sent to Microsoft for training artificial intelligence. All collected information will be stored on a computer in an encrypted form.
In addition, Recall can automatically detect if there is sensitive information on the screen and automatically delete such screenshots. You can also prevent the feature from taking screenshots when using specific programs or websites.
Also, Recall will be disabled by default and will require authorization via Windows Hello. In addition, BitLocker and Secure Boot must be installed and enabled on your Copilot Plus PC to activate the feature.
As for the Click to Do feature, in this preview build it works with Recall. Click to Do is able to recognize text and images in screenshots.
Microsoft says that Click to Do will eventually receive an update that will allow it to work on its own. Then you can activate it by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard and left-clicking to bring up the interactive menu.
Currently, Recall and Click to Do are only supported on Copilot Plus computers with Snapdragon X processors. However, the company plans to add support for Intel and AMD-based Copilot Plus PCs in the near future.
