Kuo's report states that Apple's upcoming products, including the iPhone 17 Slim, MacBook Pro with M5 chip, and iPhone 18, will have a significant impact on the supplier Sunny Optical.
The analyst says that Sunny Optical will be one of the main suppliers of the main and secondary shutter for the iPhone 18 Pro camera and variable aperture lenses.
Variable aperture on future Apple smartphones will allow cameras to control the amount of light entering the lens, and at the same time better adapt to different lighting conditions. It will also provide greater control over depth of field, which in turn will allow for sharper focus on objects and smoother background blur.
According to Apple's smartphone update cycle, the iPhone 18 Pro with a variable aperture camera is expected in September 2026.
