Apple has launched an internal study and is conducting a survey among employees to launch its own version of Ray-Ban-type smart glasses from Meta. This was reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in the Power On newsletter.
Meta glasses have a camera and integrated artificial intelligence so that users can ask questions about their surroundings. Apple could potentially develop similar glasses with a camera, Siri integration, and built-in speakers for listening to music, as well as the ability to track health indicators.
In an email sent out to employees, Apple's Product Systems Quality team invited participants for "an upcoming study of users of smartphones on the market." Apple usually uses focus groups when deciding whether to launch a new product. And involving internal employees helps keep the company's plans secret.
Collecting employee feedback on Meta glasses and other similar devices can provide Apple with valuable insights into what features customers prefer.
