Samsung is working on a Slim model in the upcoming Galaxy S25 series of flagship smartphones. The novelty will be called Galaxy S Slim. It is reported by the Korean media ETNEWS.
According to industry sources, the slim model will be based on the design principles of the Galaxy S25. Samsung has already done something similar with the recently introduced Galaxy Fold Special Edition, which is based on the Fold 6.
As smartphone performance has improved, many consumers find it difficult to recognize the differences between new models. The lack of differentiation has led to stagnation in an already saturated market.
Aware of this problem, Samsung seems to be ready to make significant design changes, especially considering that Apple is also moving towards slim smartphones.
The Galaxy S Slim is expected to appear in the second quarter of 2025, after the launch of the standard Galaxy S25 models. Such a phased release is likely intended to reduce competition within the series, and will also allow Samsung to effectively track demand for the new format.
Creating thinner devices requires adjustments to components such as displays and batteries, which can affect overall performance. Therefore, future models will be carefully tested to see how well they balance thinness and functionality.
In addition to the development of the Slim model, Samsung is reportedly considering a significant change in its branding strategy, potentially meaning the end of the iconic Galaxy name.
