Ukrainian visual novel Light de deux is out on Steam

- 25 October 2024, 07:59 PM

The romantic visual novel about ballet dancers Light de deux is now available on Steam.

The story follows the development of the relationship between Mark and Susanna, two ballet dancers who are preparing to take part in a dance competition. The story is told from the point of view of the two characters, and the scenes alternate between narrators to reveal the characters' attitudes toward each other.

This is one of the few, if not the only, novels about dance. But do not expect a deep, technical immersion in the topic. The text is written in such a way that a person unfamiliar with ballet can easily immerse themselves in the plot and understand everything about it.

The novel has Ukrainian voice acting. The game costs 150 UAH on Steam

Hub of Ukrainian visual novels on Steam

This month, Ukrainian Visual Novels franchise was launched, uniting games of the respective genre from Ukrainian developers. The collection currently includes seven games, three of which have demo versions. Interest in visual novels in Ukraine is gradually increasing thanks to the Ukrainian Visual Novel Jam, which is regularly organized by Ruslan Salikov, known as Ternox.

The Ukrainian Micro Visual Novel Jam has started today, where authors can compete by creating a short story with a number of restrictions (one character sprite, one background, up to 1000 words in the story). The jam will last for ten days (until November 3 inclusive). Three winners will receive UAH 5000 each.
