The John Wick franchise is expanding with more and more projects, and one of them will be a full-length anime film that will tell the story of the hired killer's past. This was reported by IGN.
The director of the four films, Chad Stahelski, is currently working on a script for the fifth film in the franchise, but while there are no details about it, he spoke about another feature. The anime film will show the "impossible task" that John Wick completed before he left his job.
Stahelski said that he and his entire team are deeply involved in the creation of this movie, but he is not saying when we can expect the premiere. However, he did say that they might show more madness in the anime.
“We can be a little bit more crazy and nutty in the anime, and we can be a lot more explicit in our storytelling and world building on the TV show. So those are exciting to us without seeming repetitive, and that’s where we’re putting our energies right now,” Stahelski said.
The director also noted that he and the entire team involved in the franchise just wanted to "have fun." It was in order to have more freedom of action and the opportunity to show crazier things that they chose to make a prequel to the main story.
We remind you that John Wick anime was first announced in November 2023. In addition to the animation, the franchise will also get several TV series and a full-length spin-off Ballerina starring Ana de Armas.
