Tesla has notified Cybertruck owners that their cars have a problem with the rearview camera. The company has recalled more than 27 thousand vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023, to September 14, 2024. That is, all of the released copies, reports The Verge.
Some cars with the operating system 2024.32.5.2 or higher may have an issue where the camera will show nothing for six to eight seconds when the driver tries to reverse. At the same time, US law requires that the rear camera image appear in the first two seconds.
So far, there have been no accidents or reports of other road accidents. Nevertheless, Tesla voluntarily decided to recall the car after its own tests in September. The company is also releasing a free system update that should fix the faulty software.
This is the fifth time that Elon Musk's company has recalled Cybertruck. Previously, such actions by Tesla were caused by faulty windshield wipers, problems with body elements, and the accelerator pedal.
