Carscoops is already trying to find the answer to this question based on photos of car prototypes and its own information. So...
Quite unexpectedly, the next BMW X5 crossover may return to the small "nostrils" of the radiator grille, but instead receive elongated headlights. It is also already clear that the car will feature convex doors, but rather sharply and clearly defined wheel arches on the wings. In addition, pay attention to the door handles - currently, the next-generation BMW X5 prototypes have only small flap protrusions, which resembles the door handles of the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
It seems that the BMW X5 will be based on the design of the BMW Neue Klasse X; however, it will retain the CLAR platform, which is still in use today. This means the possibility of installing conventional gasoline or diesel engines, using a plug-in hybrid system, as well as building a pure electric vehicle - it will probably be called BMW iX5. The closest technical relative of the future BMW X5 G65 is the BMW 5-series G60: we expect a similar engine range, power range, and battery capacity for an electric vehicle.
However, all of this is only the first information, which is still subject to change. After all, the debut of the new BMW X5 is scheduled for the second half of 2026, and sales will start only in 2027.
