Huawei has unveiled a new specialized smartwatch, the Watch D2, at a global presentation in Barcelona.
The model boasts an inflatable strap. Thanks to it and special sensors, Huawei Watch D2 can measure blood pressure. This provides more reliable measurements than watches that rely on optical sensors. By the way, the new model has been approved by the European organization MDR and the Chinese NMPA.
In addition, Watch D2 has an optical sensor used to measure heart rate, as well as ECG and skin temperature sensors.
The watch comes with a rectangular 1.82-inch OLED screen. For comparison, the original model came with a 1.64-inch display. The watch itself measures 48 x 38 x 13.3 mm and weighs 85 g. It is smaller but heavier than the first-generation Watch D. The new product has IP68 protection. The declared battery life is up to 6 days.
Huawei Watch D2 is already available in Europe for €400 or £350.
By the way, Huawei also announced the MatePad Pro 12.2, MatePad 12 X tablets and other smartwatches - Watch GT 5 and Watch GT 5 Pro- at the same global event.
