Huawei held a global event in Barcelona, where it showed many new devices, including the MatePad Pro 12.2 and MatePad 12 X tablets.
The MatePad Pro 12.2 has a dual-layer OLED display and a 10,100 mAh battery with 100W charging support. The MatePad 12 X is sold in China as the MatePad Air and, interestingly, has the same battery as its older sibling, but 66W charging.
MatePad Pro supports a keyboard and stylus. It has a 12.2-inch screen with a resolution of 2800×1840 pixels.
MatePad 12 X, like the Pro, has a PaperMatte layer on top of the screen. It simulates the texture of paper to improve productivity and is also pleasing to the eye.
The new devices are equipped with branded Kirin 9000W/Kirin 9010W processors (MatePad Pro 12/MatePad 12 X) and the HarmonyOS operating system.
The Huawei MatePad Pro is available in two versions: black with 256 GB of storage for €849/£700 or gold with 512 GB of storage and a PaperMatte screen for €999/£80.
The price of MatePad 12 X is €569/£550 for a black or white tablet with 256 GB of storage and €649 for the 512 GB version with PaperMatte screen.
