Right now, Germany is hosting the IAA Transportation motor show, which presents not just passenger cars, but a variety of commercial vehicles such as vans and pickups. Unsurprisingly, this is the place where the Maxus eTerron 9 electric pickup truck, originally from China but aimed at the European market, made its debut.

Although you wouldn't know it from the design and size. After all, the 5.5-meter Maxus eTerron 9 looks like a Ford F-150: similar headlight brackets, convex wheel arches. And even an additional trunk under the hood with a considerable volume of 236 liters - at the level of a regular trunk of a small car!

The technical component of the Maxus eTerron 9 pickup truck is in line with the trends that have recently prevailed in Europe: only electric drive (no ICE or hybrids), a 102 kWh battery with a promised range of 430 km (WLTP), and all-wheel drive with two electric motors - 125 kW (170 hp) in front and 200 kW (272 hp) in the rear. Other interesting details of the new Maxus eTerron 9 include an air suspension with a "squat" loading option, as well as support for V2L technology with two connection points and a power of up to 2.2 or 6.6 kW.

It is also worth noting that the Maxus eTerron 9 pickup can be transformed. For example, the front seats in the cabin can be fully reclined to create two 1.7-meter-long sleeping berths. It is also possible to fold down the rear wall of the cabin and the rear sofa, so that objects up to 2.4 meters long can be placed in the body. And all this is combined with touchscreen displays, the aforementioned "pneumatic" system, all-wheel drive...

Recently, there was news that the director of Ford was stunned by the progress of Chinese electric vehicles and noted that they have gone far ahead and pose a real threat. He said this after testing one of Changan's electric vehicles, but it seems that the Maxus eTerron 9 pickup truck would be a good example.

The main thing is not to emphasize the payload of the Maxus eTerron 9, which is only 620 kg. So now compare the Maxus eTerron 9 with a conventional Ford F-150!
