Logitech's Ultimate Ears brand has announced a new portable Bluetooth speaker called Miniroll.
The new model will replace the Roll 2 speaker, which debuted in 2016. Miniroll has the same round design and giant volume buttons on the surface.
In addition to the volume buttons, the Miniroll also has a recessed power button and play/pause button on one side and a USB-C port on the other.
The Miniroll comes with IP67 dust and water protection, an improvement over the IPX7 rating of the Roll 2. The new product can also withstand drops from a height of up to 1.2 meters. However, the speaker is not able to float and Ultimate Ears did not include a float in the package, as it was with Roll 2.
The company also abandoned the bungee cord of its predecessor in favor of an elastic silicone strap that allows you to attach Miniroll to things.
As for the battery life, it will last up to 12 hours. The Bluetooth range is up to 40 meters. Miniroll supports Auracast technology, which allows you to connect the new product to an unlimited number of other speakers.
The new model is already available for $79. Different colors are available.
