Back in April 2024, Qualcomm announced cheaper and less powerful Snapdragon X Plus processors for budget laptops, and finally in September, we will be able to see their implementation in laptops.
According to The Verge , citing a well-known insider Evan Blass, the first affordable Copilot+ laptops will be presented at the Berlin International Radio Show, which will take place from September 6 to 10.
Currently, the cheapest Copilot+ computer with a Snapdragon X Elite processor is Microsoft's Surface Laptop 7, which costs $999. New laptops with the less powerful Snapdragon X Plus will drop the price tag to $800.
Earlier in August, Wccftech reported that sales of Copilot+ computers would reach 800 thousand units in 2024, but this figure is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
More than 5 million of these computers are expected to be sold by 2025, and lower-cost models with Snapdragon X Plus could be the main driver for this growth. By 2029, it is expected that there will be more than 50 million AI computers on the market.
