The Chinese forum Board Channels has reported that NVIDIA is ending production of its most popular GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. This was reported by TechRadar.
It is claimed that NVIDIA is now taking the last orders for RTX 3060 GPUs. After they are fulfilled, production will be stopped. Of course, for some time to come, video cards will be assembled from chips from the existing stocks, which will last until the end of 2024.
For now, these are just rumors, and they should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, the RTX 3060 is still the most popular graphics card among Steam users. However, it was introduced back in January 2021, and thus the model is approaching its fourth anniversary, which may push NVIDIA to end production.
Overall, NVIDIA graphics cards are used by the vast majority of Steam players. As of July 2024, 76.92% of Steam users use NVIDIA graphics accelerators, AMD accounts for 15.17%, and Intel for 7.57%.
