The mini-PC market has an interesting new offering: the Meenhong JX5. It runs Windows 11 and looks like a smartphone, reminiscent of Microsoft's failed experiment with Windows Phone. This was reported by TechRadar.
The JX5 has a sturdy aluminum body and a 5.5-inch touchscreen with a 1920x1080 resolution. With a height of 161 mm and a width of 92 mm, it is slightly larger than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but significantly thicker at 23 mm. Part of this thickness is due to the cooling fan.
The mini-PC has an Intel N100 processor with Intel UHD Graphics. It comes with 12 GB of 4800 MHz LPDDR5 RAM. The JX5 has a 1500 mAh battery, so you'll have to count on about an hour of use between charges.
The Meenhong JX5 has WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 modules, a full USB Type-C port, a USB-A 3.0 port, two USB-A 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5mm audio jack. There is no SD card slot. It is capable of powering two additional screens with 4K resolution and 60 frames per second.
A model without a drive and operating system sells for $220. A 2TB SSD is also available for $356.32.
This mini-PC is reportedly sold on AliExpress under the SZBOX brand, but we were unable to find this particular model.
Chinese manufacturers are finding new shapes for mini-PC assemblies; earlier we wrote about one that fits into a keyboard.
