The smartphone runs on the latest version of iOS 18.3.1. In fact, all that remains of the Lumia 1020 is the body and display glass. Inside is an iPhone SE 3 with an A15 Bionic chip, 128 GB of internal storage, and 5G support.
The original iPhone screen glass was removed and glued to the front glass of the Lumia 1020. The iPhone SE 3's LCD screen is slightly larger than the Lumia's, so the modder had to get rid of 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen. He was also able to place the iPhone's selfie camera in the same place as the Lumia's, in the upper right corner.
The enthusiast was unable to use the 41-megapixel rear camera from the Lumia 1020, so he "transplanted" the 12-megapixel camera of the iPhone SE 3. It is centered on the rear panel and is located above the decorative frame. Right below it is the transplanted Home button with Touch ID.
The Micro USB charging port has also been replaced by iPhone's Lightning. On the right, as before, there are power and volume buttons. The Lumiphone also has a camera shutter button, which only Apple recently added for the iPhone 16.
The smartphone receives updates over the air, like other modern iPhones, but does not support Apple Pay. The modder also notes that Apple CarPlay works without any problems.
