Legendary Bulgarian artist and art designer Viktor Antonov has died at the age of 52. This was announced by the account of his last studio Eschatology Entertainment.
Victor Antonov was born in 1972 in Sofia, Bulgaria, and moved to Paris at the age of 17. The artist was responsible for the visual style of such games as Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, and Dishonored, and as an art supervisor for ZeniMax Media, he helped create the style of Wolfenstein: The New Order, Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, DOOM (2016), Prey, and The Elder Scrolls: Legends - Heroes of Skyrim.
In 2022, Antonov became the art director of Eschatology Entertainment, a Cypriot studio with a majority of Ukrainian employees. Currently, Eschatology Entertainment is developing a hardcore narrative AAA shooter in the post-apocalyptic Wild West setting. This game has not been announced yet. Unfortunately, the studio's investors are Russian venture capital funds GEM Capital and The Games Fund.
