AMD plans to push NVIDIA in the mid-range graphics card market by offering competitive prices for the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT models, IT Home reports.
According to preliminary reports, the flagship RX 9070 XT model will cost $599, while NVIDIA's RTX 5070 Ti costs $749, and the regular RTX 5070 costs $549.
With the release of the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, AMD intends to discontinue production of the RX 7800 XT in 2023, which is currently the company's best card in this price segment.
AMD originally planned to stop production in the third quarter of 2025, but decided to do it earlier to focus all attention on the new series.
The Radeon RX 9070 XT is expected to be based on the Navi 48 GPU, which will have 4096 cores, a clock speed of 2.97 GHz, 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM with 256-bit bus, and 640 GB/s memory bandwidth. According to reports, the standard version of the RX 9070 will also have 16 GB of VRAM.
