Google launches NotebookLM Plus, an individual plan that is now included in the Google One AI Premium package, TechCrunch reports. Unfortunately, this tool is not yet available in Ukraine.
Previously, NotebookLM Plus was only available for enterprise customers in Google Cloud and Google Workspace. Premium offers higher limits on the use of AI tools and additional features.
Google One AI Premium costs $20 per month. In addition, Google has introduced a 50% discount for students over 18 in the US, offering One AI Premium for $9.99 per month.
"We’ve always wanted to get NotebookLM Plus out to enterprises and consumers, and have seen really a ton of interest from consumers, and in particular students from the beginning," Kelly Schaefer, Director of Products and Domains at Google Labs, said in an interview.
Google launched NotebookLM back in 2023, but the tool gained widespread attention in September 2024 when the company launched the Audio Reviews feature, which generates a podcast from user notes. Currently, the feature is only available in English, but Google plans to add support for other languages.
"We are thinking about how to prioritize the languages and then, most importantly, how to make sure that they feel really genuine and just as seamless and natural as our current Audio Overviews do," says Kelly Schaefer.
The team is also working on adapting NotebookLM for mobile devices and exploring the possibility of using new reasoning models.
