CD Projekt RED announced as part of its financial report for the third quarter of 2024 that the studio has moved to full production of a new game in The Witcher series codenamed Project Polaris. Before that, the project was in pre-production.
"During this phase, we developed key aspects of the game, including the storyline, core mechanics and design, as well as other elements, and then tested how they work together," explains CD Projekt CEO Michal Nowakowski, "The main and most intensive phase of development, the production phase, is ahead of us. Now we will scale the solutions we have developed and tested so far to the entire game."
According to the company, 400 of the studio's 650 employees are working on the game. The rest are engaged in other projects: Project Orion (a continuation of the Cyberpunk series), a spin-off of The Witcher codenamed Sirius, and a new IP called Hadar.
