Google has no plans to release Android TV 15. The next major OS update for TVs will be released after the release of Android 16. This is reported by Android Authority.
Android for portable devices is updated too often for TV manufacturers to keep up. Because of this, Google is moving Android TV to a two-year update schedule.
Unlike smartphones, most people change their TVs every 5-10 years, mostly driven by factors such as price, screen size, and hardware specifications rather than software features.
Since TVs are more narrowly focused media consumption devices, they don't rely as heavily on software updates as smartphones.
If Android TV will indeed be released every two years from now on, the next version of the system should appear in 2026. Google is currently testing some new APIs for Android TV 16.
