Steam has finally introduced a long-awaited feature - video recording in games.
The new feature is already available to all users. In addition to recording games, it allows you to share videos with other users on social networks.
In the past, you had to use third-party software such as NVIDIA, Xbox, or OBS to record video from games.
The new feature in the game client has several applications. First of all, it's a background recording mode that will constantly save your game play to the selected disk, without exceeding the set limits for the recording duration and disk space. You can also choose a recording mode with manual control of the process.
Steam also introduced a quick replay feature. It will allow you to "find out what led to your death or revisit a dialog with a non-player character." Another new feature will allow you to create clips of your best gaming moments and share them with others.
To top it all off, the new recording feature will also work on Steam Deck.
