Google updates the desktop version of Chrome and adds 3 modes for the memory saving feature: Moderate, Balanced, and Maximum. This should help you customize your browser's "appetites" more flexibly.
Moderate mode deactivates tabs according to the needs of your computer, while Balanced mode takes into account both user habits and system needs. Maximum mode deactivates tabs faster after you stop using them.
Google has also added a performance tool to Chrome. This tool is able to identify potential performance issues and offer solutions.
For example, to speed up a tab you're using, Google suggests deactivating tabs that use extra resources. Chrome users will see a "Performance issue alert" notification and a "Fix" suggestion that will improve performance. You can turn off performance alerts in the settings.
