Many Overwatch 2 players remember the good old days of 6v6 since the sequel switched to the new 5v5 format. Those fans who haven't abandoned the game all this time have been calling on the developers to bring back the old mode. It seems that Blizzard has heard them. This was reported by PC Gamer.
The game's director Aaron Keller said that the next, 14th season of Overwatch 2 will have two temporary 6v6 modes. The first of them will be a variation of the flexible Open Queue set, where each team of six players must have at least one character from each role, but no more than three. For example, 3 "tanks", 2 "support" and 1 DPS.
The next 6v6 mode will appear in the middle of Season 14 and will bring back the classic 2-2-2 (two tanks, two sappers, and two DPS). However, the modes will still work with a new balance specially adapted for the 5v5 format. So you won't be able to fully return to the "same Overwatch".
