Ubisoft can already celebrate a kind of anniversary - since 2008, it has been reminding us for the thirtieth time that the development of Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still ongoing. The number of reminders was counted by PC Gamer.
The company recently announced that creative director Fawzi Mesmar has been hired to work on the project. One of his strengths is bringing projects to release.
"With more than 20 years as an award-winning game designer and creative director, he’s been instrumental in the successful launch of over 20 video games," as Ubisoft's representative.
The game reportedly made a good impression during internal tests. This does not mean that the development will be completed soon, but it is at least underway.
The difficulty for Ubisoft is that it's not enough for the company to release a game, it has to be good. It has to be so good that players don't ask themselves, "Why did you spend so much time on this?" The company already has a similar experience with Skull and Bones, which was in development for 11 years.
The developers of The Wolf Among Us 2 also had to remind us of their existence recently, but of course, the numbers are different. The game was announced in early 2022.
