A new hidden feature has been found in Google Photos version 7.3 that will be able to recognize images generated or modified by artificial intelligence. Android Authority found the relevant references in the program code.
There are three new points in the Google Photos code that will be responsible for providing information about the use of AI: @id/credit, @id/digital_source_type, and @id/ai_info.
The @id/credit will provide information about what was used to generate the image. For example, it can be a Made with Google AI mark that will be stored in the EXIF data.
The @id/digital_source_type field is likely to refer to the Digital Source Type field, which indicates the source of the media from which the digital image was created.
There is no exact information about the functionality of @id/ai_info, but it is likely that this field will provide information about which AI or model was used to create or modify the image.
