Microsoft has made Windows 11 updates faster in the latest version of 24H2, which the company began rolling out en masse in September 2024, The Verge reports.
As a result of these changes, monthly security updates and other system changes should be installed much faster. Microsoft has also worked on parallel processing of components, scalable use of system RAM, and an optimized cache for updating components.
Installing future Windows 11 updates will be 45% faster and use 25% less CPU power than before. The computer restart time will also be reduced by 40%.
In addition to these changes, the company has also reduced the size of updates with new Windows 11 features to about 200 MB. Microsoft was able to achieve this result by disabling the forced download of built-in programs if they have already been updated to the latest version.
