Insta360, as promised, held a presentation to showcase its new Ace Pro 2 action camera.
The new product is a competitor to DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and GoPro Hero 13 Black. The device has a similar form factor and two displays. The front screen of Insta360 only displays information, not a live feed of what the camera sees. Instead, buyers get a flip-up main touchscreen, now 2.5 inches in size, with improved brightness and pixel density.
Insta360 Ace Pro 2 has a ruggedized body and is waterproof. The device can be submerged to a depth of 12 meters. The camera can record 8K video at 30 frames per second and 4K video at 120 frames per second in slow motion using a 1/1.3" sensor. It is paired with a Leica Summarit wide-angle lens with a 157-degree angle of view. The device also supports Leica color profiles.
The manufacturer promises that with the help of artificial intelligence software, the camera will be able to capture clear images in low light conditions. In addition, the Ace Pro 2 received PureVideo technology, which reduces noise and increases the brightness and detail of video. Photos are taken with a resolution of 50 MP.
The battery life is 180 minutes, and it takes only 18 minutes to charge to 80% using a 30-watt adapter. The full charge time is 47 minutes.
Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is already available in the US and Europe. The device costs $399/€449.
