Railroad Corporation 2, a railroad strategy game from the Ukrainian studio Corbie Games, is now available on Steam Early Access.
"Railroad Corporation 2 is a train tycoon game set at the turn of the 20th century, where you take on the mantle of a railroad magnate to start your new railroad corporation. Seize the opportunity of railroad electrification to lead the charge in the new era of trains. Strategize as you lay tracks, balance finances, deploy locomotives to ferry goods across vast landscapes, and outpace the competition," the game's description says.
In Railroad Corporation 2, you need to build your own railroad network, lay new tracks, buy trains, invest in other industries, and of course move goods and passengers to help cities grow. Interesting features include controlling semaphores, building power plants to power the railroad network and cities, searching for new resources through geological exploration, and more.
In the Early Access, Railroad Corporation 2 has Ukrainian, English, and German text localizations, but no voice acting. On the occasion of the release, the game can be purchased with a 20% discount for 480 UAH until November 4, 2024.
Immediately after the release, Corbie Games announced the game's development plan for 2024. It includes three content expansions, generation of seasonal maps, a new biome, etc. It is not yet known whether the game will include the Ukrainian railroad.
