It seems that Tesla is planning to release a proprietary app for Apple Watch users. This was reported by our colleagues at MacRumors.
Information about the Apple smartwatch app was spotted in the code of an iPhone app that recently received an update.
The code indicates that the Apple Watch can be used as a digital key to remotely unlock compatible Tesla vehicles. Currently, this feature is only available through unofficial apps in the App Store. It has also been possible to use an iPhone as a key to a Tesla car for many years.
By the way, in early 2024, Tesla CEO Elon Musk expressed his readiness to release an app for Apple Watch. The code confirms that development is ongoing. Unfortunately, it is not yet known when the release will take place.
