Cloud Imperium Games presented more than an hour of gameplay footage of Squadron 42, a Star Citizen spin-off, at CitizenCon 2954. The company also said that the game is scheduled for release in 2026. So there is a possibility that it will finally be released 14 years after the announcement. This was reported by Insider Gaming.
The developers said that Squadron 42 will have 30 to 40 hours of gameplay and showed the first chapter in an hour-long demo. The audience could see a prologue with a space battle to introduce them to the world. In addition, this demo made it possible to evaluate the technical condition of the game now - it crashed twice.
So far, Cloud Imperium Games has raised more than $730 million over the 12 years of development of both Squadron 42 and its main project, Star Citizen. Both games and the crowdfunding campaign were announced on October 10, 2012.
We remind you that recently it became known that developers from Cloud Imerpium Games had to work 7 days a week to finish everything they needed before the CitizenCon event. Probably, one of the tasks was to prepare the Squadron 42 demo, which you can see below.
