The macOS Sequoia operating system has a handy feature that Windows users know well. Now Mac owners can drag the program window to the edge of the screen to fix it in the desired position, evenly dividing the screen into halves or quarters. This was reported by The Verge.

Apple calls this feature window tiling. There are several ways you can use it.

Clicking on the green button in the upper left corner of the window will bring up a menu of options: expand to full screen, snap to one side of the screen, or place in a corner. After selecting one of the options, all other programs will automatically fill the empty space in the same format.

New hotkeys have also been added to the system:

  • Fn + Control + Shift + navigation arrows - snap the window to the desired edge of the screen;
  • Fn + Control + Option + Shift + navigation arrows - fix the window in the desired quarter of the screen;

Or you can pin programs using the Window menu.

By the way, you can customize some aspects of window design using system settings. You can find them in the Desktop and Dock section.
