MacPaw, a Ukrainian software development company for macOS and iOS, has introduced a major update to CleanMyMac. The program received a new design, information on computer health, tools for cleaning and improving Mac performance, and much more.
The updated CleanMyMac has a new design based on research and analysis of user experience. At the same time, the assistant has been updated to provide personalized health reports, suggestions for cleaning, optimization, and security, and reminders of the most important options.
Of course, the program has new and improved features to optimize and protect your Mac. The first of these is Smart Care, an all-in-one maintenance and optimization module that combines cleaning, protection, and performance enhancement. There are also additional functions for managing duplicate programs and program updates.
Next up is My Clutter, which is one of the key modules in the update that organizes the storage, finds large and old files and duplicates. There is also a separate Cleanup module designed to delete unnecessary files. It will clear files generated by the system, such as cache and other temporary data.
The next update to CleanMyMac is the Protection module, which is powered by MacPaw's Moonlock Engine technology and protects your Mac. It scans for and removes malware and other threats, and helps you manage your privacy by clearing data such as recent items and browser history. A new feature that groups program permissions by type makes it easier to manage privacy settings.
CleanMyMac has an updated "Menu" that now provides real-time system monitoring to help extend the life of your computer. It's been reimagined to provide a more efficient background scan, optimize system resource usage, improve malware monitoring, and scan disks and energy-intensive processes.
In addition, new battery monitoring shows the biggest energy consumers, and Mac health monitoring assesses disk space, threats, battery health, and system load.
The updated CleanMyMac is available for purchase on the MacPaw website, the Mac App Store, and Setapp. CleanMyMac X or Setapp subscribers will receive the update for free. The new CleanMyMac requires macOS 11 or later and a minimum screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels.
