Renault 4 E-Tech presented: an electric hatchback with retro hints
As we continue to follow the most interesting novelties of the Paris Motor Show 2024, Renault continues to develop its own retro line of models. After the launch of the Renault 5 E-Tech, it is now time for the Renault 4 E-Tech to make its debut.
As with the five, the new Renault 4 E-Tech is made in a retro style and resembles the Renault 4 from the last century: stylized rounded headlights, elongated headlights, a sloping trunk lid and small side windows. At the same time, cross-hints were added in the form of increased ground clearance (18 cm) and a black plastic belt around the circumference. The new Renault 4 E-Tech has a 4.14-meter length and a 2.62-meter wheelbase.
But the technical component of the Renault 4 E-Tech is completely identical to the Renault 5 E-Tech model. The base version has a 40 kWh battery and a 90 kW (120 hp) electric motor, with a range of 300 km. The maximum version will have a 52 kWh battery, a 110 kW (150 hp) electric motor, and a range of up to 400 km. The drive is exclusively to the front wheels.
The interior of the new Renault 4 E-Tech is also identical to the Renault 5 E-Tech: a similar front panel, a digital 7- or 10-inch screen instead of the instrumentation, a multimedia system with a 10-inch display, and no gearshift on the center console (it has been moved to the steering column).
Sales of the new Renault 4 E-Tech electric vehicle will begin in Europe in the spring of 2025. The exact price is not yet available, but the Renault 5 E-Tech can again serve as a benchmark, which currently costs from 24-25 thousand euros, depending on the version and the presence or absence of a financial environmental bonus.
