Google continues to test features to keep users on the search results page. This time, the company has set its sights on the culinary sphere. The search engine will show full recipes for popular dishes without the need to go to the site from which the recipe was taken. This was reported by Search Engine Roundtable.
The function is called "Quick view". It works only with popular recipes for now. The user can click on "Quick view" and the recipe will expand on the same page.
"We’re always experimenting with different ways to connect our users with high-quality and helpful information, заявляє представник Google. "We have partnered with a limited number of creators to begin to explore new recipe experiences on Search that are both helpful for users and drive value to the web ecosystem. We don’t have anything to announce right now."
In this way, Google simply takes away user visits from websites. It is unlikely that there will be many platforms that will be ready to continue creating content that will not be monetized in any way, because Google will simply remove it from the site to its search engine.
But from the user's point of view, this can certainly be convenient, for a while, as long as Google has something to take away from its search results.
By the way, Google already had a similar feature about ten years ago. The company abandoned it about a year after its deployment.
