The demo of the Ukrainian VR game Whispers of the Void, released as part of Steam Next Fest, features the game's first mission and introduces players to most of the key gameplay mechanics. Textual Ukrainian localization will be available in the demo next week.
In Whispers of the Void, you put on the suit of a representative of a rare profession - an artifact hunter, a daredevil exploring the most remote corners of space. During a routine mission, searching for an artifact commissioned by an old friend, you suddenly find yourself in the middle of a galactic conspiracy.
Players start the game on a spaceship and have to make a warp jump to a distant desert planet. There, they will get acquainted with a dynamic combat system that combines shooting and energy sword fencing, solve ancient puzzles, climb a mountain, and face the game's first boss. The players will be accompanied on their adventures by a faithful companion, an alien frog.
Whispers of the Void is being developed by ByOwls, a US-registered but actually Ukrainian studio established in 2017, with employees in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Odesa.
The free demo of Whispers of the Void is already available on Steam and contains 30-60 minutes of gameplay.
