Apple announced the AirTag tracker in 2021 and has been working on its successor for some time now. Bloomberg journalist and insider Mark Gurman told about it in the latest Power On newsletter.
If everything goes according to plan, Apple will release AirTag 2 in the first half of 2025. The tracker will receive an updated chipset. Most likely, this is a new version of the UWB (ultra-wideband) chip that appeared in the iPhone 15. This updated technology is expected to improve the accuracy of device location tracking.
AirTag 2 may also receive new features. The design of the device is likely to be the same.
In addition to AirTag 2, Apple is also preparing to release updated Mac Studio and Mac Pro with M4 Ultra chips in 2025.
