In honor of the tenth anniversary of Alien: Isolation, creative director Al Hope has announced the sequel to the action-adventure horror game. The game is in the early stages of development.
"On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear. Today, I'm delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to ALIEN: ISOLATION is in early development. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we're ready," Hope said.
As in the case of the original game, Creative Assembly will be developing the game. The studio released the first game in 2014. The original Isolationm was inspired by the first 1979 movie in the Alien franchise.
The game received mostly positive feedback from the community and enjoyed a fairly good commercial success, with 2.11 million copies shipped within a few months of its release. SEGA was initially disappointed with this result, which may be why the sequel was announced only 10 years later.
