Super Zoo Story, a cozy zoo simulator in the spirit of Stardew Valley by the Ukrainian Super Zoo Story Team, has been released on Kickstarter and has already raised 1.5 times the required amount.
The Kickstarter campaign started on October 1, 2024, and on October 4, Super Zoo Story received 100% of the $60 thousand target amount. At the time of writing, the game has raised $91 574, which means that two additional goals have already been opened - 20 rare or extinct animals and an animal encyclopedia. The next goal is an aviary, or aviary for birds. There are still 24 days left in the Kickstarter campaign, so this and the next goal ($100 and $125 thousand) are likely to be reached.
Super Zoo Story attracted attention in early September 2024, when IGN wrote about the project (Mezha wrote about this game in the spring of 2023). At the same time, Ukrainian players were outraged that the Ukrainian project did not have a Ukrainian language.
The Ukrainian localization has already appeared on the Steam page of Super Zoo Story, but unfortunately, Russian is also on the list of languages. This is partly due to the fact that the game's publisher, the American company Crytivo, was founded in 2013 by Alex Koshelkov, a Russian from Turkmenistan, and works with a number of Russian and Eastern European studios.
According to the description on Kickstarter, Super Zoo Story is being developed by only three people, and the game is scheduled for release in the second half of 2025.
