NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is worth $109 billion, which makes him more expensive than the entire Intel, which has a market value of $96 billion. He could buy the company and still have $13 billion left over. Tom's Hardware writes about this.
Intel is going through one of its most difficult years. The company has a lot of problems that it is trying to cope with in every possible way, in particular by creating a separate subsidiary Intel Foundry, which will focus on the production of custom chips. The chipmaker will also receive additional funding from the United States by the end of the year, but even with that, it will be worth less than Huang.
NVIDIA, on the other hand, has been incredibly successful in recent years due to the popularity of AI chips, which are in demand among all AI companies. As a result, in June 2024, NVIDIA became the most valuable company in the world, surpassing Microsoft and Apple. Now it has lost its leadership, but only by two positions and is the third most valuable company in the world, $1 billion ahead of Alphabet, Google's parent company.
The company's success has directly benefited its CEO. Jensen Huang personally owns 75 million shares of NVIDIA stock and has an additional 786 million through various trusts and partnerships. Even after selling 6 million shares worth $700 million this year, he still owns more than $100 billion worth of shares.
By the way, Huang is ranked 11th on the Forbes billionaires list, and he lacks only $20 billion to get to the 10th position.
