Microsoft has blocked the Windows 11 24H2 update on some systems due to reports of crashes in Asphalt 8 and blue Easy Anti-Cheat screens. This was reported by Bleeping Computer.

When playing Asphalt 8, the game may freeze with an error that requires a restart to recover.

"After installing Windows 11, version 24H2, you might face issues with Asphalt 8 (Airborne). The game might stop responding with an exception while you are using or exiting it, and you will have to restart the game to recover from the exception," Microsoft stated.

The company is also working to resolve an incompatibility issue between Windows 11 24H2 and the popular Easy anti-cheat that comes with multiplayer games such as Rust, MotoGP 24, THE FINALS, and even Microsoft games such as Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Sea of Thieves.

The described problems are only observed on systems with Intel Alder Lake+ processors and the vPro platform. In some rare cases, affected devices may also freeze or display a blue screen with the error message "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" during the game.

Most Windows 11 24H2 systems that experience this issue use Easy Anti-Cheat drivers released before April 2024.

Microsoft says that updating games to the 24H2-compatible version of Easy Anti-Cheat will help solve the problems.
