OpenAI has reported that its ChatGPT chatbot is now used by more than 250 million people on a weekly basis, about 2.5 times more than at the same time in 2023. This is stated in the company's blog.
Speaking about a new round of investment, in which the company raised $6.6 billion from Microsoft, NVIDIA, and others, OpenAI representatives also announced a new achievement in the number of weekly users:
"We are making progress on our mission to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. Every week, over 250 million people around the world use ChatGPT to enhance their work, creativity, and learning. Across industries, businesses are improving productivity and operations, and developers are leveraging our platform to create a new generation of applications. And we’re only getting started," the statement reads.
Only at the end of August, the company reported that the number of weekly users of the chatbot was 200 million. If we take into account the previous statement, ChatGPT has gained another 50 million users in more than a month.
One of the possible factors for this growth may be that pupils and students are returning to school and are more actively using the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
