Polish 11 bit studios announced that the urban planning strategy Frostpunk 2, released on September 20, 2024, sold more than 350 thousand copies in three days and has already paid for the development.
What’s more, the total estimated sales revenue has already covered the costs we spent on producing and marketing the game.

It (almost)… pic.twitter.com/7sa9qVe4fvIt is not known whether only copies sold on different platforms were counted or also copies that players received as part of the Xbox/PC Game Pass. Frostpunk 2 has received quite favorable reviews in the media and has a Metacritic score of 86/100. Players on Steam are not so happy, with a Steam rating of only 71/100. Many did not like the fact that the sequel turned from a survival game into a game about political squabbles and diplomacy.
The peak online player count on Steam was more than 35 thousand, which is more than the first part, which gathered more than 29 thousand simultaneous players on Steam 6 years ago.
Ahead of the release, we prepared our own review of Frostpunk 2, in which we praised the game, but noted that the new concept might not appeal to all fans of the first part.
