SpaceX plans to launch "about five" unmanned Starship missions to Mars within two years. This was announced by the company's CEO Elon Musk, Reuters reports.
According to the billionaire, the timing of the first flight with a crew will depend on the success of unmanned missions.
If they land safely, manned flights will be possible in four years. But if problems arise, manned missions will be postponed for another two years.
Elon Musk also added that the company will increase the number of ships that will go to Mars.
"We want to enable anyone who wants to be a space traveler to go to Mars!" he wrote.
It is noteworthy that earlier this month, Elon Musk said that the first Starship ships would be launched to Mars in two years, when the next Earth-Mars transfer window opens.
