Images of Nintendo's hypothetical next console have appeared on Reddit from the Chinese social network. They depict a console with a large 8-inch screen, magnetic Joy-Cons controllers, and USB-C ports both on the top and bottom. VGC writes about it.
Although the images are unverified, an anonymous source reports that the Reddit images are in line with what the company has told partners to expect from its designs.
According to preliminary data, the new Nintendo console will have 12 GB of RAM (the current Nintendo Switch has 4 GB), HDMI 2.1 support, and 256 GB of internal storage (compared to 32 GB in the current one).
Although the design in the images is similar to the current Switch controllers, there are some noticeable changes, such as updated SL/SR (inner rib) buttons and LED indicators on the front panel.
It is also reported that Nintendo may return to LCD screens instead of the more premium OLED to reduce costs, especially given the increase in storage capacity.
In May, Nintendo confirmed that it will announce its next console during the current fiscal year, which will last until March 31, 2025.
