Amazon is asking employees to work in the office five days a week. This is stated in a memo from CEO Andy Jassy, CNBC reports.
According to him, employees will be required to be in the office five days a week "in the absence of extenuating circumstances" or unless they have appropriate exceptional permits.
“Before the pandemic, it was not a given that folks could work remotely two days a week, and that will also be true moving forward — our expectation is that people will be in the office outside of extenuating circumstances,” said Andy Jassy.
Amazon is giving employees until January 2, 2025 to start complying with the new policy.
This decision is a significant departure from Amazon's previous return-to-work policy, which required employees to be in the office at least three days a week.
By the way, Zoom recently conducted a survey of its customers and found that the vast majority of respondents (83%) consider themselves much more productive in a hybrid or remote work environment.
