In the fourth generation of AirPods, Apple has removed the setting button located on the back of the charging case, as in other headphone models. Instead of a physical button, the manufacturer chose a hidden capacitive button, Gear Patrol reports.
The hidden button for pairing and resetting AirPods 4 is located on the front of the charging case. To initiate pairing mode, open the AirPods 4 charging case and then double-tap the front of the case where the hidden control is located. This hidden button is also used to reset the device to factory settings. To do this, triple-click or long press and hold.
The status indicator on the AirPods 4 charging case is also more discreet. When the case is not charging or closed, it does not light up, and when the case is opened or placed on the charger, the indicator simply appears under the white plastic.
