In 2023, Tecno showed the Phantom Ultimate concept smartphone with a stretchable screen. Now the manufacturer has announced the second generation of the gadget, GSMArena reports.
The Phantom Ultimate 2 is a smartphone that folds into three parts. It stands out for its slim profile, which is only 11 mm when folded. This makes it thinner than the Galaxy Fold 6, which is 12.1 mm thick. The smartphone has a new hinge design and an ultra-thin battery cover that is only 0.25 mm thick, made of Titan Advanced Fiber.
When closed, the phone has a 6.48-inch display, but when unfolded, it turns into a large 10-inch OLED panel with a 3K resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio. The device supports several folding modes, including a laptop-like configuration. The hinges are tested for durability and can withstand up to 300,000 folds.
Tecno has optimized the Phantom Ultimate 2 software and added a multi-window mode to the new product. The device is also equipped with a triple camera.
It is not yet known whether Tecno plans to release a production version of Phantom Ultimate 2.
